New Black Hills Raptor Center Facility Journey!

The story of the journey to building the New Black Hills Raptor Facility was shared by Maggie the 2012 Guideposts Magazine article, “Embracing Hope and Soaring in Troubled Times.”

Continuing to this day as volunteers working from their homes, Maggie and John coordinate with other volunteers to feed, train, care for, and present programs with six avian ambassadors. All the species of raptors at the Black Hills Raptor Center are native to South Dakota.

Help build the New Black Hills Raptor Center Facility

Passionate about their birds and their calling to teach about the natural world, Maggie & John’s long term goals include building the New Black Hills Raptor Center Facility.  Most of all this will be a permanent Raptor Center on 5 acres east of Rapid City Regional Airport fronting SD Highway 44.

Further more the New Black Hills Raptor Center Facility will make it possible for this non-profit organization to create a state of the art center.  Therefore they can provide rehabilitation to injured raptors, conducts scientific study of birds, and house the non-releasable education raptors.

Help build the New Black Hills Raptor Center Facility

Black Hills Raptor Center relies on contributions from donors to build our dream. Be part of the solution to nature deficit disorder in this region! Your contribution provides food and care for our current birds, support for low-cost programs at schools and community events, as well as supporting the dream of the New Black Hills Raptor Center Facility that can care for these magnificent birds.

Some of the supplies we need are listed below on our wish list.  Most of all you can help us with a donation or by purchasing calendars, greeting cards and handmade bracelets available in our Raptor Store!
